1.1 The Golearn Platform is intended for learners residing in the Republic of South Africa.
1.2 Users under the age of 18 years may only register for and use the Platform with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
1.3 Where required by law or for participation in certain features, Golearn may request proof of age or parental consent before permitting participation.
4.1 Golearn may make available a virtual credit system known as "EduCredits".
4.2 EduCredits are digital credits used solely within the Platform.
4.3 EduCredits have no cash value, are not redeemable for money and may not be transferred, sold or exchanged between users.
4.4 Golearn reserves the right to amend the value, availability or use of EduCredits upon reasonable notice.
5.1 Golearn may from time to time offer educational quizzes, competitions and challenges.
5.2 Quiz outcomes are determined by users' educational performance, including the correctness of answers, scores achieved and any published competition rules.
5.3 Participation in any competition is subject to these Terms and any additional Competition Rules published by Golearn.
5.4 Golearn reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel any competition where necessary for legal, technical or operational reasons.
5.5 Where prizes are offered, winners shall be selected in accordance with the applicable Competition Rules.
6.1 Users may earn points or rewards through participation in educational activities offered on the Platform.
6.2 Rewards may include airtime, vouchers, educational devices, digital credits or other promotional prizes.
6.3 Rewards remain subject to availability.
6.4 Golearn reserves the right to substitute prizes with prizes of equal or greater value where reasonably necessary.
7.1 Purchases made through the Platform are processed through approved third-party payment providers, including but not limited to Ozow, PayFast, Paystack and OTT Voucher services.
7.2 Golearn does not store customers' banking or card details.
7.3 All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR).
7.4 Refunds shall be dealt with in accordance with applicable South African consumer legislation and Golearn's Refund Policy.
a. The AI tutor and career assistant are educational tools intended to provide general academic guidance and career-related information.
b. AI-generated responses may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be regarded as professional, legal, medical, financial or educational advice.
a. Past examination papers, educational content and other material made available through the Platform remain subject to applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
b. Users may use such material solely for personal educational purposes.
c. Reproduction, redistribution, publication or commercial exploitation without the necessary permission is prohibited.
a. Golearn processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). By using the Platform, users consent to the processing of their personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
a. The parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes amicably before referring the matter to a court or tribunal having jurisdiction.
8.1 All prices on the Platform are quoted and charged in South African Rand (ZAR) and include Value-Added Tax (VAT) where applicable.
8.2 The Platform is free to download, and core learning features — including browsing institutions, past examination papers and study materials — are available at no charge.
8.3 Paid items on the Platform are: (a) EduCredits, a virtual in-app credit used to access certain features such as quiz entries, the AI Homework Helper, the Career Coach and the AI Study Planner; and (b) the Application Assistance service fee, charged for preparing and submitting an application to an institution on your behalf.
8.4 The exact price of each item is clearly displayed to you within the Platform before you confirm and pay. No charge is made without your confirmation, and there are no hidden fees.
8.5 Where an institution charges its own application fee, that fee is separate from Golearn's service fee, is set by and payable to the institution, and is not a Golearn charge.
8.6 Golearn may amend its prices from time to time. Any price change applies only to purchases made after the change and never to a purchase you have already completed.
9.1 Refunds are handled in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
9.2 EduCredits. Because EduCredits give immediate access to digital features, a purchase of EduCredits is final once the credits are delivered to your account. Where EduCredits were charged in error, or a technical fault prevented delivery, contact support@golearnza.com and we will refund or restore the credits.
9.3 Application Assistance service fee. You are entitled to a full refund of the service fee if we have not yet started work on your application, or if we miss a closing date we committed to through our own fault. Where we have already substantially carried out the work, the service will have been performed and only a partial refund, or no refund, of the service fee may be due.
9.4 Institution application fees are not refundable by Golearn once they have been paid over to the institution.
9.5 Approved refunds are made to your Golearn wallet or to the original payment method used, at your election, normally within 7 to 14 business days.
9.6 To request a refund, email support@golearnza.com with your order or payment reference and the reason for the request.
10.1 Under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act you may cancel an online purchase within 7 days, subject to the exceptions in that Act.
10.2 The Application Assistance service is often time-sensitive and close to institution deadlines. If you ask us to begin work immediately (by ticking the box to that effect at checkout) you agree that we may start straight away, and you give up the 7-day cooling-off right for that purchase once we have started work.
10.3 You may cancel an Application Assistance order before we have started work for a full refund of the service fee. Once work has substantially started, clause 9.3 applies.
10.4 EduCredits and completed digital purchases cannot be cancelled once the benefit has been delivered, save as required by law.
10.5 To cancel, email support@golearnza.com as soon as possible with your order or payment reference.
11.1 These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
