The GoLearn mobile app includes software from Meta (Facebook), TikTok, Google (Firebase) and OneSignal. These partners help us understand how the app is used and let us reach learners who may benefit from it. What each receives is limited on purpose.
What we send them. Which parts of the app were used and when — for example that a past paper was opened, a quiz was completed, or credits were purchased — along with your device type, app version and an account number that is meaningless outside our systems.
What we never send them. Your name, e-mail address, phone number, school, ID number or location. We also never send the content you type: your Homework Helper questions, your Career Coach conversations and your search terms stay between you and GoLearn. This is enforced by the app itself, which drops any information outside an approved list before it is sent.
Learners under 18. Where you have not confirmed that you are 18 or older, we instruct these partners to treat your information under their restricted data settings, and we switch off collection of your device's advertising identifier. Your activity still helps us measure whether the app is working; it is not used to build an advertising profile of you. Because most of our users are in Grades 8 to 12, this restricted mode is what the app applies by default.
Notifications. Notifications about your account — one-time PINs, quiz results, application updates and messages — are sent by GoLearn directly. OneSignal is used only for general announcements to groups of users, such as a new feature or a bursary deadline, and receives your account number and broad details such as your grade band and province.
Your choices. On iOS you may decline app tracking when asked, and on both platforms you may turn off notifications in your device settings. Neither affects your ability to use GoLearn. You may also ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, using the contact details in this policy.
These partners process your information under their own privacy policies: Meta, TikTok, Google and OneSignal each publish one on their websites.
