We are expanding our platform to connect learners with tutors for online lessons, giving tutors an opportunity to reach a growing community of learners across South Africa.
About the opportunity
We are looking for qualified, knowledgeable and reliable tutors to offer online tutoring through GoLearn. Tutors will be able to create a profile, indicate the subjects they can teach, and provide tutoring sessions to learners through our platform.Tutoring sessions will be conducted online using video, audio and chat features.
Responsibilities
- Provide online tutoring in your approved subject areas.
- Explain concepts clearly and help learners understand their schoolwork.
- Set your own weekly availability; work as much or as little as you like
- Attend scheduled sessions on time.
- Communicate professionally with learners and, where appropriate, their parents or guardians.
- Maintain accurate availability and booking information.
- Follow GoLearn's tutor policies, safeguarding requirements and platform terms.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of the subject(s) you intend to teach.
- Relevant qualifications, academic results, teaching experience or demonstrable subject expertise.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable internet access and a suitable device for online lessons.
- Professional conduct and a commitment to learner safety.
- Willingness to complete any required identity, qualification and background checks.
- A laptop or smartphone with a stable internet connection, a quiet space and a working microphone
- Patient, clear communicator who enjoys helping teenagers learn

Subjects
We are particularly interested in tutors for:
Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Geography, English, Afrikaans, other home languages and more.
Tutors with university-level subject expertise are also welcome to express interest.
Compensation
Tutoring sessions will be offered at rates determined by GoLearn's published pricing structure. The proposed standard rate is R200 per one-hour session, with the tutor receiving an agreed share of the session fee, subject to the final tutor agreement.
Tutors will be independent contractors and will not be employed as permanent employees by GoLearn.
